Mariam Assed
Mariam Assed, a Libyan artist born in Moscow. My journey in art started from a young age, inspired by my imagination and personal life experiences. My artwork moves through several phases, beginning with abstract circular decorations, evolving into modern figures with ancient Libyan ornamental detail. These artworks reflect vitality, emotional depth, and the spiritual aura surrounding the human form.
I studied design and ornamentation at a Russian college and later earned my degree from the Faculty of Arts and Media at the University of Tripoli in 1998. I participated actively in exhibitions during my studies, which helped shape my artistic vision.
From 2000 to 2003, I worked as an art teacher in private schools, organizing art exhibitions for children. Later, I worked as a Russian language translator in several companies and medical centers, including the Russian Eye Clinic, enriching my professional journey with a new dimension.
In 2014, I returned to my passion and academic roots by joining postgraduate studies at the Libyan Academy, where I pursued my master’s and currently my PhD in plastic arts.
